One Color into the Kiln, A Thousand Hues out of the Fire
According to Notes from the Southern Kiln, "yaobian" (kiln-transmutation glaze) refers to the natural transformation of glaze color as it flows under high heat. The phrase "a thousand hues out of the fire" means no two pieces will ever have exactly the same color effect. This transformation is primarily seen in the glaze’s color and fluidity at high temperatures.
Fired at temperatures between 1350°C and 1380°C, the piece inherits the traditional Jun kiln’s delicate body and dazzling glaze, while also embracing modern aesthetics. Its form is full and exquisite. With the addition of specially developed agate glaze, the result is a vibrant, layered visual texture.
Featuring more than ten richly varied glaze tones, the surface is adorned with vivid, flowing patterns that spark endless imagination.
Note for perfectionists: Each piece is unique — if you mind natural variations, please consider carefully before purchasing!
